Andrew has worked in the avalanche industry for the past 7 years as a backcountry avalanche forecaster, educator, and guide in Alaska and Montana. He earned a Master’s degree from the Snow and Avalanche Lab at Montana State University and has ongoing research projects involving deep slab avalanches, synoptic-scale weather patterns, machine learning, and risk communication. His background has helped him develop a diverse set technical skills ranging from motorized and non-motorized backcountry travel in complex terrain to computer programming.
Dave Richards has been working in the avalanche and risk mitigation business for 23 years. He has worked in Helicopter Skiing, Highway Mitigation, Legal Risk Management and as the Director of a large ski resort avalanche program.
