Urban Risk Reduction

Recent trends highlight the difficulty of implementing avalanche zoning laws on the interface between wild and urban settings.

Recent trends highlight the difficulty of implementing avalanche zoning laws on the interface between wild and urban settings. Many communities are threatened, but to date, there are few in the U.S. that restrict development. As time passes, more facilities are left exposed. Intermediate risk reduction solutions are being increasingly asked for. Our team is leading the way in creating and implementing scenarios to accomplish this goal with several projects currently underway.

Examples:

  • Washoe County, NV
  • Sun Valley, ID
